NileTESOL 2023 Conference Call for Proposals

 

NileTESOL 2023 is pleased to announce that the call for proposals is now open! The conference will be face-to-face and will take place at The American University in Cairo (AUC) – New Cairo campus on January 23 & 24.

 

The theme of the conference is:
 New Era in Teaching & Learning: Challenges & Opportunities     

 

 Conference topics may include but are not limited to:
  1. Innovative and/or interactive teaching methods/tools
  2. Promoting lifelong learning
  3. Teacher/learner well-being and motivation
  4. Student autonomy
  5. Technology and online teaching and learning
  6. Materials development
  7. Collaborative learning
  8. Experiential and/or game-based learning
  9. Blended learning
  10. The 21st century skills in the EFL classroom
  11. Promoting lifelong learning
  12. Classroom management
  13. The importance of academic integrity and avoiding plagiarism

Guidelines for Proposal Submission

Please read the information below before beginning the submission process. All submissions are received through the online submission form on this link. No email submissions will be considered.
 
In order to be considered, your presentation must follow the following criteria and guidelines:
  • The title of your presentation (10 words maximum).
  • A session abstract that reflects the content, the theoretical background as well as practical implications (250 words maximum).
  • A summary of your session to be included in the program book for conference attendees to learn about your session (50 words maximum).
  • A bio that demonstrates your professional and/or scholarly expertise in the topic of your presentation (30 words maximum).
  • Citations, if any, must be included using APA. Citations are not included in the proposal word count.
  • Plagiarized submissions will not be considered.
  • Maximum proposal submissions per person is two. The selection of the proposals is made by the NileTESOL Organizing Committee. Any proposal that does not follow the above-mentioned guidelines will be discarded. Presenters will be notified of acceptance via email by November 2022.

Conference Registration Fees:

Conference fees:  175 EGP

Early-Bird Registration: 150 EGP

Presenters will be invited after the conference to submit their conference contributions for publication in the conference proceedings.
Session types
  • Demo Sessions (30 mins including Q&A): Teaching tips on how to use & apply a new practice/skill/technique
  • Presentations (30 mins including Q&A): Sharing knowledge/experience/tasks/practice/research
  • Poster Sessions (10 mins): Sharing Posters/Infographics (Poster presentations are given concurrently in a room with other presenters. The presenters communicate their research or methods of teaching visually through the poster in an engaging manner.)
